Marketing has taken a new form today with the emergence of new techniques, especially digitalization. The incorporation of digitalization with marketing is known as digital marketing. Marketers are trying new strategies every day to increase their customer base. But, what is the key to gaining customers? How can the right customer reach a company? The answer is adding a call to action in every promotion and advertisement. Every content, email, or any type of advertisement that marketers distribute should always contain an impressive call to action. 

A customer or a potential prospect going through the advertisement wants to be told the next action. Should they continue the research or is there any way to reach the organization? Sometimes, the content is incredible and makes the website the most visited, but a lack of call-to-action availability on the same page may lead to losing potential customers. 

What is call-to-action?

Call-to-action can be a link, button, written message, or statement that makes a site user take action. Action in this can be, downloading a resource or content, direct purchase, subscribing, or signing up for any newsletter or daily content. The call to action aims to convert daily or frequent website visitors into customers, leads, or prospects. 

Sales leaders always focus on ABC- always be closing. Content is no exception to this. If you are posting and publishing amazing content that educates, informs, engages, and inspires potential customers then why leave a chance of conversion? Always make a call-to-action available at the last or somewhere in the middle of the page. This will make your potential buyers aware of what is the next step. 

An effective call to action should contain:

  • Clarity- The call to action content should be concise and clear and only define what a customer has to do next.
  • Visibility- A call to action should be displayed wisely so that it reflects and revolves around the eyes of customers. Either it should be visible above the fold or at a place where customers need not scroll down. 
  • Sense of urgency- A call to action should always reflect a sense of urgency to buyers. Marketers should use certain phrases like ‘Now or Never’, limited time deal and others. 
  • Relevancy- Relevancy should always be there in a call to action. The call to action should be created as per the post customer is reading. It looks more relevant and engaging of course. 

A right call to action design

  • Call to action can be images based and text, but they should be relevant to work and download after clicking. 
  • Of course, language should be precise and straightforward, clearly defining the next step and what the audience needs to do. 
  • The content of the call to action should be intriguing and motivate buyers to react immediately.
  • Colors play an important role, they should be according to the contrast and theme of the background. 
  • Repetitive presentation of the call to action gives the audience multiple opportunities in case they miss one, they can use another.
